Margaret Cho's bio: Margaret Cho is one of the most prolific and critically acclaimed comedians of our time. In the past eight years she’s launched four sold-out national tours, turning each into a concert film. In 1999 her groundbreaking one-woman show, "I’m The One That I Want," became a best selling book and a concert film that grossed more per print than any film in history. Her 2001 "Notorious C.H.O." tour culminated in a sold-out show at Carnegie Hall, and in 2004, the CD of her "Revolution" tour was nominated for a Grammy. In 2005, Cho took her "Assassin" tour through the US, Canada and Australia. A revamp of her politically charged "State of Emergency" tour of the swing states of the 2004 Presidential election (hailed as "Murderously Funny!" by the New York Times), "Assassin" is her most political and topical work to date.

This summer, Margaret hosted the 16 city True Colors Tour. Conceived by and starring Cyndi Lauper, a portion of all proceeds benefited the HRC. Other performers included Debbie Harry, Erasure, The Dresden Dolls, The Gossip, The Misshapes, & special guests Rufus Wainwright, The Cliks, Rosie O’Donnell & the Indigo Girls in select cities.

A true entertainment pioneer, Cho is currently developing "The Sensuous Woman," a burlesque-style variety show starring Margaret and featuring an impressive line-up of the country’s most renowned burlesque performers along with hilarious stand-up and sketch comedy from emerging artists. Featured performers include Princess Farhana, Ian Harvie, Selene Luna, Liam Sullivan as Kelly, Sir Ryan Heffington, Miss Dirty Martini, Diana Yanez and Kurt Hall. "The Sensuous Woman" is currently workshopping in LA. Catch it for a week in Chicago in Sept, before it goes to New York for a limited off-broadway run at the Zipper Factory. This year, Margaret was the recipient of the first ever Best Comedy Performance award at the 2007 Asian Excellence Awards. She also recently received the First Amendment Award from the ACLU of Southern California, and the Intrepid Award from the National Organization for Women (NOW). She has also been honored by GLAAD, American Women in Radio and Television, the Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund, the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force (NGLTF), the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund (AALDEF), and PFLAG for "making a significant difference in promoting equal rights for all, regardless of race, sexual orientation or gender identity."
